Strategy 2026–2030

Strategy 2026–2030 sets the development horizon of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) within the Nexus Consortium 2030 Horizon, of which GCRI is the lead organization. It describes where GCRI intends to take the institution, the milestones by which progress can be judged, the assumptions those milestones depend on and the current status of each. It makes no promise of dates: a milestone is reached when its record shows it, not when a calendar says so. Return to About GCRI.

01In brief

The short answer.

Strategy 2026 to 2030 is GCRI's development plan within the Nexus Consortium 2030 Horizon: four directions for the period, milestones by which progress can be judged, the assumptions they depend on and the current status of each. It promises no dates; a milestone counts as reached only when a record shows it, and progress is reported in the annual review.

02Canvas

Mandate to authority.

Canvas · mandate to authorityDesign, not a record
How The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation is governedA mandate sets the platform's scope; an editor and reviewers govern what it publishes; programmes and the community supply the work; the integrity route handles corrections; authority over decisions stays outside. Design of the governance, not a record.

  • Counsel review of the legal instruments each step relies on.
07Key terms

Terms used on this page.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

TermDefinition
Strategic planA document that sets an organization's objectives, priorities and the means of reaching them over a stated period, with the measures by which progress will be judged.
Theory of changeA stated chain of causes from a programme's activities to its intended outcomes, used to plan evaluation.
Service level R0The current service level of Nexus pages: information and enquiries only. An enquiry receives a reference and a named next step; it creates no membership, contract, assignment or commitment.
08Review

How the strategy is kept honest.

Progress is reported in the institutional annual review, including milestones missed or withdrawn. Changes to the strategy are recorded with their reasons. The strategies of The Global Risks Forum (GRF) and The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) are published on their own sites, for example the GRA strategy for the same period.
