Rigour you can check
Each platform declares its STEM foundation, so a claim on the platform can be traced to a method, a data source and its limits.
The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) works through specialist platforms: communities of scientists, engineers and practitioners who apply named methods to one field or one shared service. Eleven platforms are established at their current addresses on therisk.global and nineteen more are in development at their own. The network covers GCRI as a whole, through GCRI Canada and GCRI US.
Each platform names its legal publisher · service level R0
The GCRI specialist network is the set of thirty platforms through which GCRI studies its fields as science: eleven established platforms, among them Water Nexus, Health Nexus and Nexus Foundry, and nineteen in development. Each platform declares its STEM foundation, its counterparts at GRF and GRA and its status, so a claim can be traced to a method and a source.
Water Nexus is science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) applied to water: hydrologists, engineers, data scientists and practitioners who use stated methods on water questions and publish what they find. Grounding every platform in its methods does three things.
Each platform declares its STEM foundation, so a claim on the platform can be traced to a method, a data source and its limits.
Platforms that use the same method meet on it. A flood scientist and a catastrophe modeller meet on extreme value theory, the method they share.
Methods are what Nexus Foundry implements, what the annual Nexus Universe programme tests and what Nexus Reports publishes, so a question can be followed to a corrected result.

The field platforms follow the systems at the centre of the Nexus approach. Each studies its field together with the others it depends on.
The service platforms hold the records, tests, tools, expertise, publications and public participation that every field platform uses.
The work each platform supports through GCRI is described on GCRI programmes and services.

The STEM Commons gives each method one canonical page on therisk.global, hosted by GCRI. Each method has one steward platform responsible for its quality, and every platform that applies it shows how it is used in that field. Its pages are published as each one opens.
For example, the page on extreme value theory in water covers flood return periods, changing climate and the limits of short records, and links to the same method as used in catastrophe insurance.
Hydrology, climate, ecology, epidemiology, economics and decision science, among others.
Earth observation, geospatial systems, AI, computing, communications and cybersecurity.
Systems, reliability and resilience, power, water, structural and safety-critical engineering.
Statistics, extreme value theory, uncertainty, network science, forecasting and scenario design.
The same field is studied as science at GCRI, governed at The Global Risks Forum (GRF) and examined for finance at The Global Risks Alliance (GRA). Counterpart platforms link to each other and keep their own publisher and voice.

Each of these platforms is in development: its pages set out its scope and how it works, and activities, records and services are published as each opens. Until then, each follows the current service level, R0, information and enquiries.
Each card names the platform's thesis and the first methods of its STEM foundation; the full foundation is on the platform. Enquiries about any platform go to the Secretariat at contact@therisk.global and receive a reference; they do not create membership.
Each term as this institution uses it on this page.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Specialist platform | A community website on therisk.global for one field, such as water or health, or one shared service, such as reports or testing, which names its methods and its legal publisher. |
| STEM + field | The rule that every platform is grounded in named methods from science, technology, engineering and mathematics applied to its field, so a claim traces to a method, data and limits. |
| STEM Commons | The shared library of methods hosted by GCRI: one canonical page per method, one steward platform responsible for its quality, and a page for each field that applies it. |
| In development | The state of a platform whose pages set out its scope and how it works, while its activities, records and services are published as each opens. |
The Secretariat routes experts, research teams and institutions to the right platform and pathway; experts can also write to experts@therisk.global. An enquiry receives a reference; it does not create membership or an appointment.
