Welcome to the National Stakeholders Identification Thread for Germany!
This thread identifies and maps key stakeholders across sectors to support climate action, disaster risk reduction (DRR), biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development efforts in Germany. We aim to engage relevant actors to mobilize climate finance and strengthen partnerships for the Global Risks Forum 2025 and other global frameworks, including the Santiago Network for Loss and Damage.

How You Can Contribute: Identify Stakeholders Across the Quintuple Helix Framework
1- Academia and Research: Universities, think tanks, and research institutions focusing on sustainability, climate policy, DRR, and biodiversity in Germany.
Example: Institutions like Technische Universität München, University of Potsdam, and think tanks such as the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, and Energy.

2- Industry and Business: Corporations, startups, and financial institutions involved in renewable energy, green technologies, and climate finance.
Example: Companies like Siemens Energy, green tech startups, renewable energy companies, and financial institutions offering sustainable investment products.

3- Civil Society and NGOs: Non-profits, advocacy groups, and community organizations working on conservation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development.
Example: NGOs like Germanwatch, NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union), and grassroots organizations focusing on urban climate adaptation and local biodiversity conservation.

4- Government and Public Sector: Federal, state, and local government agencies involved in climate policy, environmental regulations, and disaster management.
Example: Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), German Environment Agency (UBA), and local environmental offices managing sustainability projects.

5- Natural Environment: Organizations managing ecosystems, protected areas, and promoting biodiversity conservation across Germany.
Example: National park authorities, conservation initiatives in the Black Forest and Bavarian Alps, and regional wildlife protection programs.
